#28 - Growth Trends of Bootstrapped vs. VC-Backed Companies

by Chartmogul + Dealroo

Hi everyone,

I have been following Chartmogul reports for a while and this week they published a report where they compared growth trends of bootstrapped and vc-backed companies.

Some of the insights from the report:

  1. Bootstrapped companies with $1M-30M ARR are quicker to adapt but VC-backed grow faster.

  2. The economic downturn hit VC-backed startups below $1M ARR the hardest.

  3. New Business picks up slightly but companies with $1M-30M ARR still struggle to reignite growth.

  4. All SaaS startups below $1M ARR retain customers equally across funding models.

  5. Net Revenue Retention stabilizes with VC-backed companies with $1M-30M ARR ahead of bootstrappers.

If you want to get more details; here is the link to the report.

For Dirk’s opinions, you can also check his latest issue.

And I would like to thank everyone who made this report happen.
