#26 - Things You Need to Consume About Bootstrapping

Mailchimp - Ben Chestnut | Retention - Adam Robinson

Hi everyone,

After 2 weeks, I am here to share the videos that I consumed in the previous days about SaaS bootstrapping. In my upcoming issues, I will continue to share some content that I find valuable related to this field.

The first one is coming from MicroConf!

I assume most of you heard about Mailchimp before.

And on this video, Rob Walling interviewed Ben Chestnut to get more details about his bootstrapped story. Some bullet points:

  • He didn’t know there was a thing named SaaS when they were selling it as a subscription-based.

  • He decided to sell the company when he understood that the company was not defining himself.

  • The way they launched the freemium model was an accident. And many more:

The second video is coming from Alex Theuma who is leading SaaStock. He interviewed Adam Robinson who is very popular on LinkedIn nowadays because of his posts.

He was managing retention.com and currently, he is also leading rb2b.com. RB2B enables you to get the LinkedIn URLs of your website visitors and pushed them to your slack channel. Currently working in only the US because of privacy issues.

In this interview, Adam shared;

  • Why he built another company although he has been generating $22M ARR with retention.com

  • How he used LinkedIn effectively,

  • The story of Jasper AI and its effects on him. And many more:

Thanks for reading and I will try to update you with contents like this in the upcoming weeks. If you want to be highlighted here, reach out to me anytime you want.

Cheers,
